This is a post for any ladies who were on the fence like I was about switching practices farther along in their pregnancy. I liked my regular ob gyn office, but whenever I brought up questions/desires about wanting a natural birth, the docs didn't seem well versed or very supportive. I happened to hear about another practice nearby that was still an ob gyn office, but had four midwives on staff available for delivery/prenatal care. I met with one this morning, and as she put it it felt like " coming home." we clicked immediately and I felt a rapport with her I hadnt begun to feel after eight months at my other office. She understood exactly what I was wanting in a natural hospital birth. I feel like a big weight has been taken off my shoulders, and that I've given myself a much better shot at a medfree delivery.

More Green For Less Green
I could have written this post! I am 33.4 weeks and just switched to a hospital with midwives too! It wasn't a hassle like I thought it would be and now I feel soo much relief knowing that they have my best interest at heart. It really makes a difference! Their c-section rate is 10 percent where the one I was at was 30 percent. And they do water births! I'm so excited....
Everyone should switch, even it's late in the game if they can!

I am on the fence too and really praying that I make the right decision. I'm exactly like you-- I do like my OB group, but they just don't seem completely down with med-free births.
I think I'm going to schedule an appointment with a group of midwives in my area just for a consult and see how I feel.

This is how I started out too, just made an appt to talk to the cmm's. You can't lose from just getting some information. That way if you don't end up changing, you will at least feel like you looked into your options. Good luck!
