*Lurker* Best carrier for camping?

I don't normally post on this board but I have a question about carriers and figured this was the best place to go. We have a super cheap-o carrier that I have only used once for about 20 mins and neither DD nor I liked it much so I haven't used it again. Now we are going to be going camping several times this summer and she will be 6-9.5 MO and I am thinking a carrier will be much better for that than a stroller but I really have no idea which one to get. I would prefer it to allow both facing in and out because DD prefers facing out. Any suggestions? TIA.

  • It's been a while since I've even lurked but I'm searching for some advice too so... I've heard great things about the Ergo.  We've got one but are still too small to judge how much we love it.  Good luck & enjoy the fun camping trips (you're more brave than I am with a 6-9 mo)!

  • We have a kelty for camping/hiking but haven't used it yet since he has to be 7 months. It's a framed carrier, so it sits on the back like a backpack.

  • We have an Ergo sport and I really like it. You can't forward face but you can do a hip carry so they can look out. It also works as a back carrier and I have used it that way while hiking and found it very comfortable.
