How many people were in the room at delivery?

They told me it will be up to 20 people! Each baby will have a pediatrician, and 2-3 nurses, I will have various staff, nurses and doctors and I'm allowed my husband and one other person. This really is a big production I guess? And either way unlike other girls it's in the OR. It is a c section.

20 people? Not likely. The number will depend on if you have a c-section or vaginal delivery and if your babies are born full term or premature. Each of mine had at least a neonatologist, nurse and respiratory therapist assigned to them. Then add in 2 OBs, 2 L&D nurses, scrub tech, and anesthesia provider. I wasn't exactly counting but it was a lot, probably not 20 though.

I asked my Dr this Q last week. She told me she and probably one or two other MDs, the Anesthesiologist, 2 nurses per baby and maybe a couple neonate MDs, so maybe 12ish for triplets. I guess we'll see when it comes.

I would say that we had about 12-15 people in the room. That includes my hubby and my mom. There were several nurses for each baby and then my Dr and he had an assistant and the anesthesiologist, and there was a nurse that stayed with me the whole time in labor/delivery, during the c-section and into recovery.

There were 18 in my c section which included my Dr and a surgical asst she brought in specifically for my case, anesthesiologist, nicu dr, respiratory techs, nicu nurses and l&d nurses. The president of the hospital was waiting in the hallway- it was his first day on the job and first triplets born at our hospital so they were excited!

I've never thought about it. Lets see...anesthesiologist (and his resident), MFM, his resident, nurse, person cleaning up (nurse? med tech?not sure), neonatologist, and 2 nurses/baby (maybe it was 1 nurse and a respiratory tech?) and the two of us...so 13 that I recall.

i can't remember exactly how many were in the OR, but it was somewhere between 13-16 (not counting DH and I). the baby docs/nurses were in another room, so those were all for me, for the most part.

I had over 20 but I was at a teaching hospital. There were 3 people per baby but they were in other delivery rooms. Then 3-4 ansisilogist (sp), 3-4 drs for my csection and like 3-4 nurses. Plus DH and I of course so a whole lot of people.Some were Drs other residents and some students it was crazy.

For my c-section, there was me, my husband, OB, Anesthesiologist, 2 residents, 4 NICU nurses (2 per baby), plus other various OR nurses/assistants. I'm gonna say 12-15 people total. When you have a c-section, there are 3 patients, so it takes a big OR team to care for everyone!

I bet a lot depends where and when you deliver. A teaching hospital and earlier gestation would increase the numbers. I delivered at 35w6d at a non-teaching hospital and I think there were 6 medical folks that I remember in my c-section (anesthesiologist, OB, midwife assisting OB, circulating nurse, 2 other nurses). I guess I'd have to go back to my pictures to see if I missed anyone.

There were 18 people in my OR room, not including DH and I. Each baby had a team of 4 pediatric people (8 total). There was an OB attending, 2 OB residents (that delivered the babies), 1 Anestesiologist, 4 med students observing and my L&D nurse. Originally there were only 2 med students, but once they heard I was delivering vaginally, 2 more students came into observe because usually multiples are c/s.

There were 3 other sets of twins born during that 2 day period, but I was the only set of vaginal twins delivered and mine were the only ones that did not require any NICU time. I delivered at Bethesda Naval Hospital and they handle all multiples delivery for the military in the DC Metro/Quantico Triangle area, so they are pros at multiples deliveries.

It was the doctor having us sign papers for the NICU, my resident, my delivering doctor, 1 nurse, and the anesthesiologist. Plus my husband. So 7 people. BUT there were many more people outside the room. I delivered vaginally and the babies were then whisked away and treated by the teams set up in the hallway or adjoining room... I guess I'm not sure where they were exactly. But not in my room. Could be because they were only 30 weeks and knew that teams were going to be necessary and the room we were in was not that big at all.

I had about 20 as well, due to it being a training/military hospital. There were 3 doctors that are listed as the doctors that delivered Indifferent

. The MFM doctor that diagnosed my boys with TTTS was still at the hospital, so he "popped" in. I look at pictures like who these people?

We had about 20 not counting us. DH took some pictures of the OR before they started - it was quite a crowd. I couldn't see anything but DH, the anesthesiologist and his residents because of the screen so I didn't notice that there were so many people. I did notice that once the babies went to the NICU it got much quieter in there
