DS is almost 4. He is perfectly content to sit and pee- as am I since there is less chance of pee stains all over my bathroom. When should I start helping him pee standing up? He is in FT daycare so I guess I'll have to talk to them as well.
DS pees standing at school automatically. They have the little kid size toilets and all his friends go that way. At home, he argues and wants to sit every time, usually claiming to need to have a BM as well. Almost always a lie. He has a little step stool that he can use himself but i guess he just isn't ready to give up his cushy Elmo potty seat. I don't get worked up about it. It's only pee. As long as it makes it in the toilet, fine with me.
That being said, I do have disposable toilet seat covers and Clorox wipes for public toilets in case he insists in sitting....hell, I use them even when he stands lol
My son always stands~ we taught him that way and he has no problem doing it.
This - and his aim has been no problem 89% of the time. Sometimes something catche his eye and he gets distracted. That being said the boys room has urinals that he uses which makes it really easy for him !
My son almost always sits at home - but at school he stands... and he learned how to stand at school --- on a little stool, leaning forward and holding the top of the seat lid...now he's bigger and doesn't do that- but it's how he learned and was good for aim.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.

Us, too. He was a really late PTer (3.5), but he learned to go standing up. The only time he does sitting down is when he poops on the little potty, which is where he still prefers to poop.

DS wouldn't stand for the longest time, but then one day a few weeks before Christmas, he just decided he wanted to stand. It does make me feel a little better about taking him to pee when we're out.
I have no idea when DS started standing, and he only does it at school. He started somewhere around age 4, I guess he saw others b/c I don't think anyone taught him. At home he sits which is fine with me. he's on the small side anyway.
We PTd DS at 3.5 and once he'd fully caught on, he started peeing standing up on his own. I think he wanted to be "like daddy". He's had no problems and has great aim.
I wouldn't rush your DS if he's content to sit, b/c it doesn't seem like a big deal to me, but once he's ready, wants to, or sees friends at school doing it, he'll likely catch on no problem.
DS has just started peeing standing up recently. He mostly sits though. He was PT'd at around 4 mos b4 his 3rd b-day. I ahve no problem with him sitting. Later on DH can teach him.

DS pees standing up at school and sits down at home. I'm not sure when he started standing up. I was quite surprised when I picked him up from school yesterday and he was peeing standing up, I had no idea. I even asked him last week if he pees standing up at school and he said no.
Our boys have been PT'd since 2.5 and I'd say they have peed standing up for the past 4 months or so. Daycare has them stand up from the get go. I think it's less messy than sitting for us.. they have pretty good aim.

are you sure he doesn't stand at school?
