  • We use Blue Lizard, either the sensitive or baby variety.  Any physical sunscreen leaves a whitish tint on your skin, but for as fair as my skin is and the number of moles I've had removed, I could not care less!

I go on weeklong beach vacations using that stuff and come back as white as I went...I consider it a victory.

ETA:  I also use rash guards on both my girls and me.  Again, not the sexiest thing to be prancing around the beach in, but I don't have the luxury to care any more.

I order my Blue Lizard online at drugstore.com.  They tend to run free shipping a lot and have larger bottles than a lot of places.  If you do a price per ounce comparison to the Aveeno Baby, etc. that you buy in the store, it's actually very comparable.  I was pleasantly surprised.  California Baby gets really high ratings but I can't stomach the price.  $18 for 3 oz of that.  $25 for 8.75 oz of Blue Lizard.

  • We use California Baby and Blue Lizard Sensitive.  CB is thicker, harder to rub and greasier.  BL is more like a traditional sunscreen, hard to find and not quite as natural, but it's the one I like the most.

  • We use Alba Kids Mineral sunblock and the Badger face stick.  I love the Badger stick for their faces because it's so easy to apply and convenient for quick reapplications.  Both brands are reasonably priced and I can buy them locally.
