One of the things I was worried about when going back to work is that I would "forget" to pump. I know that you get the feeling of fullness and that serves as a good reminder, but I start feeling that about an hour after pumping/nursing, and I was worried I could ignore it too easily. I'm the sort of person that gets "in the zone" and can forget to eat or use the restroom until I'm starving or ready to explode! I was really concerned about this, until I found a watch with 3 settable alarms, and it's been great! I've only been back to work for 2 days, but the alarm going off was a quick reminder that my #1 priority is my baby. I would then try to get to a good stopping point and head over to the "new mom's dungeon" (as I affectionately like to call the storage closet with a chair and desk) to pump. ![]()
If anyone else is interested, the watch is a timex ironman triathlon.
Re: If you forget to pump at work...
This. I have 3, 30 minute reoccuring meetings on my Outlook calendar to block the time to pump. Now, I will say...I WFH, so in reality, I often pump while I'm on a call. But with #1 I was in an office and would need to go to the mother's room to pump.
