Hi Ladies --
My name is Jen. I lurked here off and on during my pregnancy and always found the stories/posts helpful in my preparation for a VBAC. I had my VBAC on Thursday. DD2 was almost 2lbs bigger than DD1. Her delivery needed to be assisted by forceps and I had a 2nd to 3rd degree tear, but recovery has been so much easier this time.
Primary section in March 2010 was due to OP baby who had fetal heart decels that wouldn't recover during pushing.
I will have to type up a birth story to share. Wanted to say "hi."
Re: Intro - Successful VBAC
DS2 - Oct 2010 (my VBAC baby!)
Congrats on your new baby! Thanks for sharing! I'm a hopeful lurker, much like you were. When you have time to share, how much did DD2 weigh at birth? How many weeks were you? Were you "allowed" to go past your due date?
DD2 weighed 9lbs 1 oz and was almost 2 pounds heavier than the baby I could not push out (DD1 weighed 7lbs 4 oz). I went into labor on my own the day before my due date. My doctor was allowing me to go until 41 weeks. I would have actually had an appointment today (3 days after due date) to decide if I was favorable for an induction or if we would go for a RCS. I honestly did not believe that DD2 was over 9lbs. I had only gained 13 pounds total for the pregnancy. I also didn't feel like the baby was much bigger. I thought she would be around the same weight as DD1. Both of my girls were OP and they didn't know this one was OP until I was delivering her -especially since my labor never stalled out once it started.
