I've heard about the Moby and the K'tan. I don't think I would like an actual carrier (like Bjorn) since it doesn't seem like you would be able to be as close or bond as well as if you had a wrap instead. Am I right in that? Any other suggestions?

Re: Recommend your wrap (carrier)
You can be close and bond in any style of carrier. Bjorn isn't loved because it puts the baby in a bad position for hip development and comfort, but I have an Ergo Sport and love it.
I also have used a mei tai (I just had a cheap Infantino Wrap and Tie, but I liked it), and I use a ring sling for running errands now.
Different carriers work best in different situations. Some people love wraps; I never really got into them.

I have the Moby, which I love for around the house. I just bought a Beco Butterly 2 for out of the house- and I love that too. The ladies on this board introuduced me to the idea that you can rent carriers/wraps before buying them. I had a Moby already, but I rented the Beco and trialed it for 2 weeks before buying it. I would highly recommend doing that, because I see lots of posts where people are complaining that they hate the carrier they got- and they are expensive!
I used quirkybaby.com to rent and it was nice because you pay 20 dollars for 2 weeks and if you decide to buy the carrier that 20 dollars goes towards your purchase.
