Yesterday, I ate an enchilada and found out later it was made with an unpasteurized Havarti cheese. Since it was a hot enchilada, do you think it's okay that the cheese was made from raw milk?
I believe cheese has to be pasteurized in order to be sold in the US unless it's 'homemade'. At least that's what an OB friend told me!
I have bought Organic Valley's Raw Milk Cheddar at our local grocery, so you can find raw milk cheese. It's usually labeled though, because it's a selling point with some people.
Edit: oops, didn't hit the quote button. My answer was it is fine though It was heated and if there were any little bacteria (the chance is slim anyway, there's been very few outbreaks in unpasteurized products) they were killed by the heat.
Sept 2013 started TTC#2 (never got PP period so hoping for the first egg to drop)
Jan 2014 - diagnosed POF (Premature Ovarian Failure) and told pregnancy not possible without egg donor because my ovaries would never function again with my hormone levels (FSH 136, LH 98.6, AMH <.03, estradiol 0, HCG 7) - using acupuncture, chiropractic care and TCM herbs / supplements
March 11, 2014 ovulated despite every doctors prognosis!!!
Oct 2014 hormones (FSH 48, Estradiol 89, HCG 1) not good, but heckuva lot better!
