My Crazy Birth Story (w/ PIP's of course!)

Short version: Owen Matthew arrived via emergency c section on March 13 at 4:42am. He weighed in at 6lbs 12oz and was 20.5 inches long.
Long crazy version: Some of you may remember me mentioning that DH and I were going to stay overnight at a competitor casino one last time as just the two of us. My c/s was scheduled for March 19. We had our BF class on Monday and went up to the casino. Did some gambling and then went to eat at the buffet. When we got back to the room, we were both exhausted so we went to bed around 10.
I woke up at 1:30 and felt like I had to go poo. Not surprising since I did eat buffet for dinner. I went to the bathroom and laid back down. I woke up about 10 minutes later and felt like I had to go again. So I went to the bathroom and back to bed. This time, I couldn't fall back to sleep and it was too hard to keep getting out of the elevated king size bed. The thought crossed my mind that maybe I was having contractions. Then I convinced myself that it was just poo pains. No big deal.
I laid down on the couch and got another pain. It was 2:30am. I raised my knee slightly to turn to my side a little more and GUSH!!!! My water broke. All over the hotel room couch. I lept up, calling for DH to wake up. I yelled "My water just broke, we have to go now!" and he bolted out of bed. I made it to the toilet because I thought I was going to poo again. I had another contraction and a little more fluid came out. It took us about a half to get everything together in between contractions. (lucky for me, all my hospital stuff was in the car just in case!) We made it to the hotel lobby so DH could let the front desk know we were checking out. She asked if there was a problem and he said "My wife is in labor." She looked like she was going to freak out! It was kinda funny!
When we got to the hospital, my contractions were one on top of the other. There was very little time in between. They checked me as soon as they got me to a labor room. I was 5 cm. They didn't believe me that Owen was breech so they got the u/s machine to check. In the meantime, my contractions had intensified and they kept telling me not to push. I couldn't stop my body from pushing at this point and the nurse said I was bulging and needed a 911 c/s. She could see Owens butt trying to come out. By the time they got me to the OR about 15 minutes later, I was at a 10. Had Owen been head down, the nurses would have delivered him by 3:15am.
My epidural was given to me during a contraction. It was so hard to stay still. They got me laid down and started right away. DH was brought in just after the incision had been made. Within a few minutes, little Owen was out and making cute little squeaking sounds. He finally let loose a cry while they were cleaning him up and I lost it. It was such an amazing sound. He was quiet after that, just looking around at everything.
I was taken to recovery and DH went with Owen to the nursery. They never brought him to me in recovery so I didn't get to start BF until about 3 hours after he was born. Because he was breech, his little hips were clicking and he couldn't put his legs down all the way. This has corrected itself and we are still struggling with BF. I have to use a shield most of the time but am hoping to wean him from it soon. I had to stay an extra night because of his heart murmur, but the ped said it would correct itself after he analyzed the echo.
I can not thank the PGAL and PAL ladies enough for all their support. Without further adieu, Owen Matthew!! He has so much hair!!

Our twins born and died on August 2, 2010 (at 22w5d) due to Premature birth. They were only in our arms for a little while, but they will be in our hearts forever.
