is anyone else's LO's up for 4 hrs a night?

Both my kids are teething right now. They only had 2 teeth (bottom) up until last week. I give them both motrin before bed to help them sleep because i think they are cutting a bunch at one time since it's so late. DS has his hands in his mouth all day...DD never does. BUT DD is the one that is up for hrs when she wakes up.

Last night they got motrin before bed at 7:30. DD woke at 9:30 and didn't go back until 1:30!! She wakes up whining alot like she is uncomfortable BUT as soon as i take her out of her crib she doesn't make a peep. There is no more whining. In fact its like party time for her. This has happened 3x's in the past week and i just can't take it anymore. I work full time & i got a promotion at work but i'm exhausted when i get there and can't concentrate. My DH is up with me too.

I don't usually take her out of the crib or out of her room but after 2.5hrs of trying to get her back the previous night I just waiting 30 mins last night then took her out & sat on the couch and watched tv...after an hr tried her again. She cried & whined. 1hr later she was still up & a awake so i brought her into bed with me. She jumped all over the bed laughing & carrying on so at that point i just put her back in her crib and let her cry which wasn't for very long at that point because she was up for 4hrs.

What's happening to my perfect sleeper?  Do you think it's teeth even though she doesn't act like she's in pain after we go in to her???

    My DD went through the same phase. It started around 16 months old when she was cutting a bunch of teeth at once and lasted for several months because she was also at the peak of seperation anxiety at the time and was sick a few times during that period as well.  Eventually she started sleeping again.  Hang in there.

    now that you say that she we have been experiencing sep anx alot lately...gosh i hope it's not for the next few months!!! lol

    DS went through this phase.  I don't think he was teething, just up and partying.  He wasn't crying just talking to himself, so I turned off the monitor and let him be.  I had tried everything, and he still wouldn't sleep.

    DS2 has had nights where he wakes up after a few hours, and just won't go back to sleep. I have given up trying to understand the mystery that is baby/toddler sleep - hang in there!

    Getting up and watching TV is a reward for waking up.  I'm camp CIO, but even if that's not for you, you can't make the middle of the night fun or you're just asking for more problems.

    I only get her up if she's been going on for 2hrs or so...last night was the only night i turned on the tv. The other nights nothing worked. CIO doesn't work for us because it wakes up the other twin.

    We had a really bad sleep regression right around 18 months, so it could be that. It really sucked but eventually got better.

    That said, even though I'm not big on CIO, DS never leaves his room between the time he goes to bed and wakes up. Even if he asks for water, I leave him there while I get it.
