Does anybody else have trouble with the sackers at the grocery store understanding your bags?
They'll get down to 2 items left, then ask me if I want the rest in paper or plastic. (Or they won't even ask and just start shoving stuff into plastic bags.) Um, neither, I brought bags for a reason, just stick them in another bag that has room!
Put more than 3 items in a bag. They aren't plastic bags, they won't break! I want my entire cart full of stuff to fit into the bags I brought.
Put the cold stuff in the insulated bag. You know, that thick bag with the shiny stuff inside? (That I even bought at the store you work at, so you should be familiar with it!) Why would you put a bunch of dry goods in there when right beside you is a bunch of cold stuff?
Yes, they are made of cloth, but the principles are still the same: put heavy stuff on the bottom and light stuff on top.
I'd rather just sack my own groceries!
Re: Rant about reusable bags
I don't get this, either.
Usually I end up popping around and rearranging things so they're bagged properly and everything fits.
It's happened before where I've gone it, bought fruit, yogurt and a bottle of water and I get the fruit and yogurt in one bag and the bottle of water in another! I try to make sure to tell them I won't be needing a bag, but really it shoud be something they ask for small puchases like that.
I've found certain baggers at my grocery seem to grasp the reusable bag concept better than others, so I try to get into their lines. It seems odd, but it's mostly the young guys that I never have to explain the bags to, and the older baggers that seem shell shocked when they see my stack of bags.
I do this too!

I love self check out, but the main grocery store I go to doesn't have any self check out stations. :-(
Duh, didn't even think some stores don't have self-check out, lol. Every grocery store around here does.

haha Yeah I don't tip them if they don't do it right.
I do this too and had one that seemed to pick their way through my stuff. I told them I had it the way I wanted it, so please just take it off in line.
I offered to bag my own at walmart and was told I couldn't. I was also told I couldn't take the hangers out of the clothes I bought to save time - the checker had to do it.
Doesn't make any sense to me at all!
