I have been bumping on the multiples site since I found out that I was pregnant with mo/di twin boys. At 22 weeks, our boys were diagnosed with TTTS. We had the laser surgery the next day and physically they started showing signs of improvement right away. Now, we're at 27 weeks and both of them really aren't growing much at all. My little guy is at 1lb 6oz (only gained 4 oz in two weeks) and the other is at 1lb 15oz (only gaining 5 oz in two weeks). At my MFM today, he said that he really doesn't want to deliver until 29-30 weeks, but that could be a possibilitiy if they start growing below the curve.
I know that babies can make it being delivered this small, but I just wanted to hear some of your positive stories and experiences because I'm one scared momma. THX
Re: Don't have my preemies yet...need positive stories
Welcome and I'm sorry you will be joining us. This board is amazing though and really supportive. I will write a longer reply later but I wanted to point you to the blog our board put together, there is a whole collection of preemie stories to give you some hope. In particular, check out this one. These twins had TTS and are doing awesome now. I'm sure their mom will reply soon too.

Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
Page Mrs.Alice. Her twins had TTTS and were born at 28 weeks. Her babies are doing wonderfully now.
We didn't have TTTS, but they WERE 24 weekers and only weighed 1lb 5oz and 1lb 8oz. They will be one in 10 days and are doing really well now
Just take it day by day, trust your doctors and be an advoate for your babies. Good luck, and T&Ps!
Hey there! I remember responding to your post a few weeks ago on multiples. Glad to see you're still hanging in there! I've noticed some MFMs have different tolerances for growth restriction and intervention. Ours said deliver when reverse flow and/or growth drops to 5%tile or below. Are you at home? I would probably insist on being admitted for close monitoring at this point. I assume they are checking cord dopplers regulary right? As far as early preemies go, getting to 28 weeks is a milestone to reach. Hoping you and your boys can safely get a few more weeks.
I'm a bit outside of Dallas, but we did end up delivering there because my MFM was there and the NICU was better. Let me know if you have any other questions and keep us updated with your situation.

My boys were born at 29w6d at 2lb10oz & 1lb7oz. They weren't twin to twin, but rather IUGR of Baby B. They just turned one and are doing well. My IUGR baby is still on oxygen at home and a little behind on gross motor skills and feeding, but cognitively he's on track for his adjusted age and his fine motor skills are there as well.
Keep us posted!
