What is Your Opinion on These Baby Care (Bath) Products

I am a FTM who is due in the next few weeks.  I am trying to get all of the last minute items for baby and I am wondering what your thoughts are on these products...

Loving Naturals Adorable Baby Unscented Body Wash

Loving Naturals Adorable Baby Unscented Lotion

Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm

Motherlove Herbal Nipple Cream (obviously for me)

I'd like to order one other bottom balm for baby, so I'll have one for the diaper bag.  I'm thinking I should order a different brand, so I have a backup in case DS does not do well with EMAB bottom balm.  Any recommendations?

  • I use the LN lotion but in the lavendar scent.  The scent isn't too strong and I like that the lotion isn't too heavy or greasy and dries quickly.  I use EMAB shampoo and body wash so I can't comment on LN's body wash.

I really like both the EMAB bottom balm and the Motherlove nipple cream.  On the rare occasion DS gets a bad rash, I'll use California Baby caluenda diaper cream but for very minor diaper rash, the EMAB works great.  Also, you don't have to use the EMAB just for their butt.  I'll use it on dry skin patches or if DS scratches his face with his nails.  I've even used it on my face too!

As for another balm, I've heard really good things about CJ's BUTTer.

  • We use California Baby diaper rash cream, EMAB nipple cream for me (or for the corners of his mouth if they get dry), coconut oil on his bum sometimes, and CB shampoo/body wash for his bath every other night.

I like all the products we use right now!  HTH

  • Love the EMAB bottom balm (and really all their products)...I just got a three pack of that, and we use it with any irritations or ouchies. It's also cloth diaper safe. We tried Badger Balm but it hurt DD to put on, and we hated the smell.

  • I've heard Grandma El's diaper cream is great. Also the Magic Stick diaper balm. Both of those are cloth diaper safe as well if that's a concern for you. I used Method diaper balm for awhile. Lots of CDing mamas use raw cold pressed coconut oil for diaper rash with great success, as well as good quality EVOO. If you want to try something you might already have on hand. :o)

  • I know nothing about the first two but I like EMAB & Motherlove products.

  • We use all EMAB products here (lotion, shampoo/bodywash, and bottom balm) and love it all!
  • I love love the Earth Mama Angel Baby stuff. I really liked their nipple cream (I know you didn't ask about it, but if you don't have one yet, you can look into that one). The stuff is pricey but they last a long time and I feel great using them for my family and I.
  • The only one of these I'm familiar with is the Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm. I love it! My son has eczema and we struggled for a long time with diaper rashes until I realized that the hemp in our cloth diapers was irritating his skin. This balm was the most effective at treating and preventing rashes of the ones we tried, and it worked wonders on his eczema. I'd highly recommend it.
