Scootababy or other hip carrier

I'm looking for a good hip carrier that provides waist support. Ring sling kills my shoulder/back. The Ergo (and I'm guessing other SSC's would be similar) strap digs into my neck in a hip carry. I've seen that MT's can do hip carries but would I have the same problem w/ the strap in my neck? I have a woven wrap, but it takes too long- I'm still a newbie so maybe it will be better when I get more proficient but I want something quick right now.

Any use the scootababy or know of another (and cheaper) one?

    I'm not sure about the price, but the Ellaroo Mei Hip sounds like it might work well for you.  I found it to be pretty comfortable with my 25lb toddler, but I only wore it for a few minutes at a babywearing meeting.
