Lurker with a BabyHawk MeiTai Question

Several people have suggested using this type of carrier to me. I just looked at their website and designed my own and I'm in love and can't wait to get it. However, a question. It said that it can be used for newborns. Do I need to buy an insert like most other carriers or is it the way you tie it that makes it newborn friendly? I'm obviously new to this so please excuse my ignorance lol. I didn't use a carrier with Mathieu until he was like 5 months old and it was just a cheapie one.

Because I'm an AW, I chose express straps with this pattern. image I'm so excited!

TIA

Re: Lurker with a BabyHawk MeiTai Question

  • No insert needed. I did fold the bottom of mine and tie it really high on my waist when LO was tiny. I also "froggied" her legs.

  • Ditto pp - one of the great things is how flexible a mei tai is. I had DS in it when he was just a few days old. Keep the legs froggied and make sure baby feels secure, and that the face is visible and kissable. Smile
  • another lurker- op I have the green version of that on my Babyhawk.
  • Thanks ladies! I'm so excited to be able to use it. With a crazy toddler and a newborn I know its going to be used constantly! Β
