Two Under 2

So, my 2nd will be born around my son's 1st birthday...

I'm taking deep breaths.

My first sweetie was a big surprise. But has been one of the best things to ever happen to me.

My period was late and I had an internet cheapie pregnancy test lying around. I took it and it was a faint positive. So I bought a digital and the digital was positive too.

Based on everything, my two should be somewhere between 12-13 months apart...

My husband is totally thrilled. We were told we would not be able to conceive naturally (he has a lot of fertility issues) and here we are, pregnant with the second.

Anyone have tips for me? I know this post is on here like twice a week but I'm both excited and super nervous. And a tad queasy, I have to add...:)

  • Welcome and congrats! You have a pretty identical timeline to me-I got my bfp with #2 at about 4.5 months pp and my kids are 12 months 22 days apart. Smile

Having kids this close together has been one of the best decisions we ever made. It is so fun to watch them grow up so close together. It really wasn't as hard as I envisioned in my mind when I was pregnant.

This! My 2 are 13.5 months apart. Sure it's hard but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. If we were going to have a 3rd, we would try for the same spacing!
  • Congrats to you! I am due in May and they will be 16 months apart. I had fertility help with Sophee, like you we thought we would have to seek hellp again for second--obvious we were wrong. We were surprised as well, but excited at same time. It is blessing and you take it as such. I am still not sure how things will be with a 1 year old and an infant...I know challenging but also very exciting!

  • My #2 was born 2 days before #1's first birthday. I found out when he was 4.5 months. I had a lot of scary feelings at first and I was kind of weepy and emotionally unstable for a while. My DH was very excited too and that made things easier. Anyways I just want to encourage you. It has worked out well for us and I love my little boys so much. It's hard to imagine but your first child will be so different by his first birthday. He will still be a baby but just not like right now at all. You can do this. People may say things but just be bold. It is very clear to me that our DS2 was meant to be. You will love your #2 just as much and you haven't done anything wrong to your #1. They are going to love each other and be great playmates.

  • Keep breathing!

My DD and DS are 362days apart

My DS and baby #3 will be a little less than 14 months apart. Meaning all together we have roughly a 26 month span between 3 kids.

Honestly for 1st tri having just a little LO makes it easier, they're more inclined to cuddle all day or let you puke in peace.

  • Congrats! My boys are a year and 12 days apart and I love it. I would suggest you get your lo on a consistent nap schedule that way when you have your new baby you can have that time to bond. I got both my boys on the same nap schedule usually from 12-2... Or 3. And it seriously makes all the difference to me.

Thank God Danny is a pretty good napper. He naps every morning for two hours and every afternoon from 2-4. I'm hoping he'll drop the morning nap eventually.

Thank you ladies for your encouragement...I'm starting ot feel less freaked out by all of this. It's less daunting.

  • Just found out that we are pg with LO#2 and DS is only 4.5 months.  Definately glad to see how many mommies are making it happen with 2u2!
