Blended Families

"Cultural differences" poster calling us mean on 3rd Tri

https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/64336824/ShowThread.aspx#64336824

In case anyone wants to check it out.  I refrained from posting in the original thread because it was just too much drama, but posted on this thread.  We are meanies!

And if anyone was wondering why she posted here in the first place (I know I was), it is because she thought this was a board for mixed race families.  reinforces the need for an English / reading comprehension class, huh?

on that thread, you said just what I was thinking and did not have the energy to type!

I just don't see how anyone can come to her defense, but I guess it's just a matter of perspective and experience.

ITA that was why I just had to post the link there- thought everyone would get a kick out of it.

  • I was pretty sure that was why she had posted here, but I didn't feel the need to be mean and point it out to her. I hope that at some point she realises that we weren't being mean, we we're honestly trying to help her, she got good advice.

I have a feeling she won't, esp now that she has other posters on 3T giving her relationship advice and how to make her bf change.  I guess I am crazy that at 17 I don't think you should feel trapped in a permanent relationship with a BF you have to struggle to change!

I think it's just maturity and experience, that's why we see it differently than she does.

  • I stopped reading that thread when I saw the siggy pic of a VERY pregnant 15 y/o who is all happy with her BF at what I'm assuming was their shower.

LMAO I saw her say "omg they are so mean. They called you a BABY!" which right now is the worat thing you could say to my SDs....who are 9 years old. I laughed at my desk.

I saw that too, and couldn't keep reading.  I guess when you are my age and have a 20 year old child already, the thought of him or even my nieces (age 21 and 17) that are young having babies already is scary.

This!  I am really enjoying her stupidity.  And there really wasn't much defense on the 3rd tri board.  Most people gave her a reality check, IMO.

Maybe she'll go back into the hole she crawled out of.

  • They are holding her hand and we tried giving her honest advice. She actually needs both but is to young to really benefit from either. I actually just feel sad for her situation. No one wins on this one. I did wonder why she posted here and had to lol about that.

  • I guess I'm really "blended" since I'm in an interracial marriage and have to biracial kids..lol. I was 16 when I got pregnant with ds1. I look back at pics and I'm just shocked at what a baby I was. Whenever I see a pregnant teen I think back to how hard that was. I missed my jr prom b/c I was at lamaze class with my mom.

Owwie, I'll be 24 next month lol. But I can understand that I suppose, I think back to my 19 year old self moving in with now DH and two kids and honestly wonder what the he!! I thought I was doing. But now having a baby is a cakewalk in comparison most days.
