InfantSEE Appointment Tomorrow -- Feeling Kinda Nervous...

We have our appointment for Cam tomorrow through the InfantSEE program.  I am getting kind of nervous.  I've been worried about him being a little cross eyes for the last month or so, and it took forever to get him in to see someone.

I hope we get good news.  The pedi said he might just have big fat pads on the inside of his eye holes (weird way to word it, but you get the point) because he can definitely look both ways with no problem.

I figure since bad eyes run in our family though, it's probably a good idea to get him checked out either way.

Here's hoping for good news!

    We had to have Zoe checked at about 4 months.  One of her pupils doesnt dialate. We had to get a fairly thourough exam, retractors and all. It was rough, she didnt want to cooperate and the Dr needed a good look. Lot of tears for her and I. Our follow up with a specialist and her check up were much smoother.The specialist was awesome. She was great with Zoe, no retractors and very patient.  and the follow up was much smoother as well.  

    Bring a blanket to wrap him up in so he cants bat out the Drs Instruments and perhaps some toys you know will grab his attention so you can get him looking where the dr needs you too.

    Thanks for the advice -- the blanket is a REALLY good idea, as are the toys!  What was the outcome with Zoe?  Did everything end up being ok?

    They had us go to the specialist at childrens so she could rule out anything nuerological. The diagnosis is basically just that her eye doesnt dilate.  it essentially attached too tightly.  The place where its "stuck" is good though, lets in a a good balance of light.  Her eyes are so dark you wouldnt notice it unless you were looking for it.  I took me many times to get anyone else to notice it but me.  

    The only concern the could really see was in the future for night driving.  I was also told as she gets older and they use stronger dialating drops on her, it could start to dialate.  For now we just get check ups every 6 months.

    Hope it goes well tomorrow, Ill be looking for an update.

    Glad you stuck with your instinct that something was wrong.  It's hard to advocate for your LO when no one wants to listen and hear you out.  The pedi didn't even suggest going to an eye doctor, but I'd rather find out now, like M&M said because it's easier to fix when they're younger.

    I am glad you got good news with Zoe, she is just too stinking cute!
