Diaper rash and pool chlorine - a Question

G has a baaaaaad diaper rash. Worst I've seen it yet. We have swim class saturday morning. Will the chlorine sting where the skin is raw looking? I have no idea!

Re: Diaper rash and pool chlorine - a Question

  • It depends on what chemical they are using in the pool and the levels. My first answer would be yes it will burn/be irritating, but after thinking about it, I would try the eye test - if it doesn't burn your eyes when open underwater, it should be ok. (I used to life guard and we used that to see if the chemicals were too strong for the infant swim classes). Can you call ahead and ask what they use?

No, unfortunately there isn't someone to call before tomorrow. Class is at the local high school. The last thing I want to do is to make this swim stuff any more upsetting to her. Maybe I should just skip it tomorrow.
