3rd Trimester

Does anyone know the cutoff for the 1-hour glucose test?

My OB sent me an email saying my test was normal at 35, but I don't know how close that is to the cutoff. Does anyone know?

  • When i received my results, it said the standard range was <130 mg/dl

  • Depends on the norms the doc is using, but 35 is quite low.

  • I think the cutoff is most commonly around 100. I passed with an 86, so you are definitely WAY low.

  • It depends one which kind of glucose test they did.  If you had to fast, it will be different than if you did not.  1 hour diff than 2, etc.:

Weird. I wonder why it was so low? I actually was kind of worried about it b/c I've had such a sweets craving this pregnancy!

  • My doc has a cut off of 140 ...

  • That seems low. Maybe my doctor does a different one? I got a 104 and she called me saying I "passed with flying colors".

  • I had 131 and my dr said cutoff was 140

  • At my office the cutoff is 140

  • Maybe she meant 135? 35 seems ridiculously low.

  • I'm going to say that it was 135, if you had that much glucose and an hour later it was at 35 you would definitely be in the hospital for a hypoglycemic episode.  If you didn't have the shakes, irritability, etc, it was more likely 135.  I get hypoglycemic to the point of feeling like I'm going to pass out when my blood sugar hits 55 or below.

Okay, sounds like she probably forgot the 1. I thought 35 sounded like a weird number...I'm pretty sure it wasn't anywhere near that for my last pregnancy. Thanks for the help, ladies!
