obviously i already am lol but it went from 45 at 13 weeks to 27 at 16 weeks. i'll be going every 2 weeks for checks but i was a little surprised he didn't pull me out of work/put me on light duty at least (i'm a nurse always on my feet) i might call my ob who seems a little more conservative with preventative stuff on monday. on the upside my placenta previa has resolved and the babies look fabulous. i kept thinking of the LMFAO song wiggle wiggle wiggle because they wouldn't stop moving. TIA for any advice!
Re: cervical length--should i be freaking out?
is this 4.5cm to 2.7cm? or 45mm to 27mm
I a surprised that they did not say something more about this. This website helped me figure out some of the numbers, but I know everyone is different

Cervix is very hard to distinguish from lower uterine segment at 13 weeks. So the 16 week measurement is more accurate.
Although 27 mm is still "ok", that's on the very short end of normal. 27mm would worry me.
ETA: I was also always on my feet even more than a nurse. My cervix shrank and I went out of work at 23 weeks. I made it to 36 weeks on bedrest. It was a pro-active move to take me out of work, and I do not regret it at all. The cervix is very dynamic and hopefully with rest yours will thicken up.
Let us know what your doc says.
i was a 2.9 at 22 weeks and it definitely upset me. my MFM was fine with it...my OB was OK with it...she said it's not IDEAL and that it's on the low end of normal but that's it's not something to be too concerned about...to ease my mind she had me come in a few days later and it measured in the 3's on her machine. she since checks it pretty often and it's stayed in the mid 3's (knock wood) for a bit ...i am almost 29 weeks now.
sometimes it's a function of who is measuring it and positioning of babies....i would talk to your OB and discuss. however i know that they don't start to mention any type of modified bed rest at my MFM until you are at least at 2.5!!
GL!
i spoke with my ob. while he agreed it is still "normal" he does want me to not work and to rest as much as possible until my next cervical check. that is schedualed for april4th but if i still have cramping on monday he wants me to come in to be checked again. he thinks that i'll prob be done work anyways given the nature of my work and not being able to take breaks and put my feet up. i'm hoping i can go back light duty for a couple weeks bc he won't sign my diability papers until i'm 2.5/ thanks ladies for your help!
