Antibiotics

Hi girls!

Has your lo needed antibiotics? My dd has a cold and my dr. said that as a precaution she wants her on antibiotics. Idk what to do. There is no fever, a slight cough, runny nose, and congestion. I can't get an appointment with another dr. tmrw for a second opinion. Most everyone with lo's that I asked,said to hold off. My mom and dr. said that she's to young to let it play out. IDK!

    My LO just started eye drops with antibiotics for a blocked tear duct and infection.  I get nervous with them being able to fight something off.  However, antibiotics due nothing for colds!  They only work on bacterial infections, not viral.

    Try using a humidifier and turn off the fan.  It is also spring time, so could it be allergies? Allergies can cause the runny nose and a runny nose can cause a cough.  (And no, my LO hasn't needed abx yet; but I think if he were not feeling well, I'd talk to the doctor about her recommendation by trying to understand what she thought was going on, why it couldn't be a virus or allergies, and why abx.)

    BTW, how old is LO?

    Thanks girls. She's a few days short of 3 months. I'm going for a second opinion today.
