Yesterday I had my second little guy, he was born at 35 weeks 1 day due to placenta previa and lots of heavy bleeding and clotting.
He is in the nicu after I was transferred to a bigger hospital on Monday and had an emergengcy c-section yesterday at noon after another big bleed.
He was a big boy for 35 weeks 7lbs 7ozs. He was on cpap but had to be taken off to be intubated last night because of high levels of co2 in his lungs. They also think that he might have pneunomia. His heart is doing good and he is breathing good just a little faster than they would like.
Any advice on anything I can expect in the coming days/months would be helpful.
I do have another little boy who will be 10 months on Saturday (we wanted them close but not this close) who has a fever so I can't be with him right now. It is hard not being able to cuddle either of my boys when they need mommy the most.
Thank you
Re: 35 weeker- new here
Congrats on your beautiful baby boy! I'm so sorry you can't be with either of your boys right now. :-( You will be though, soon!
I don't have any advice for you right now - my 35.5 weeker did not need to be on CPAP or the vent. He did have some pneumonia and an infection at birth, so he stayed in the special care nursery for 7 days on IV antibiotics. He was big too - 7lb2oz. I hope your guy gets his breathing under control quick so he can go home soon!
Welcome! I hope your NICU stay is short and sweet.
Your guy has his size working for him. Hopefully the vent will be short-lived and the pneumonia will pass quickly.
Keep us posted!
