anxiety about leaving LO... :(

I have to leave him for 4 days while Im in NYC for a conference. Im really bumming about it- I am going to miss him so much! MIL is coming into town tonight and will be here all next week, but I still worry about him eating enough, etc.  Im worried that I wont be able to pump enough times and that my supply will tank. Also worried about the hassle of shipping the BM home... Ugh I guess Im just feeling sorry for myself.

I am going out of town for work the end of the month, too. I am worrying about the same things, but everything will be fine :)

Are you flying? You can bring breast milk with you on the plane if you are. You just have to claim it through security.

  • I would have major anxiety too. The only time Ive ever left Tim was when I had Nick and I was pretty anxious about that

  • Just go! :)

It is nerve racking, but once you're there and doing it...it's just fine.

Use this time to be with adults again, take some time to do something alone and sleep all night..lol.

For me the buildup is worse than actually leaving.

Also, do you have to ship bmilk home? I'd find a way to freeze it before I'd do that. That'll cut back on some of the stress.

  • Everything will be ok! I would be stressing too but just know your dh and mil will do great! Just pump when you can, drink lots of water and relax! You are an amazing mom for providing for you LO! T&P that everything goes smoothly! :-)

  • Make some lactation cookies to take with you to help with your supply while you are out of town.
