Help me save my gravy!

I hate when I *** up a dinner that I've been looking forward to.  I roasted a chicken and made mashed potatoes for dinner.  My favorite part of this meal is the gravy and I totally messed it up tonight.  I used way too much flour and now it tastes all, well, flour-y.  Not good.  Can it be saved or is it destined for the sink?

  • Can you add some hot (boiling?) chicken stock, maybe?

ditto...and spice it up how you like it.  you'll just end up with a little extra gravy.

  • I don't have any chicken stock handy - do you think a boullion cube would work?

deffinatly if you make the 1 cup of broth and then add is...cubes to me just seem saltier then stock...I always have a can of stockon hand.  If I knew where you lived I'd drop it off on my way to get DH from the airport...lol.

-Edited for quick type, mis-spelled idiocy.

Aw, you're sweet!  Thanks!  I made up some boullion and added it.  It was better but still not great.  Boo.  I'll just have to try again this weekend.

  • For every one cup of liquid, use one tablespoon of flour and butter. Do you start by baking a roux?
