How much table food per "sitting"?

Not sure if this has been posted recently as I've been on and off around here! If you feed table food to LO, how much does he/she eat at a sitting? I know there is a wide variety of foods and thus the amount of food that is eaten varies, but I'm just curious so explain the best you can :-)

Right now, DD eats one serving of puree (breakfast) and two servings of table food (lunch and din din). But the table food is always less food than the puree.  When she eats table food, she might eat 7 pieces of diced tomato, 7 pieces of diced pears, a quarter of a piece of toast. Is this amount similar to what your LO eats?

Re: How much table food per "sitting"?

  • how much do i put on her tray or how much does she swallow? :)

She gets a pretty good amount on her tray, but a little at time and I give her more as she wants it. But at least half ends up in her lap. I general give her 2 or 3 strips of meat (smallish strips, like maybe 1/2inch by 2 inches?), some strips of veggies, pasta if we're eating it (maybe 1/8 of a cup prob a little less). She eats what we eat, but Id guess she only swallows a few oz.

Ok good! I figure if she is hungry, she will eat, but I like to keep tabs on other kiddos too. I can always count on you to answer my foodie questions. Thank you :-)

LOL, I just posted on FB that I wished I had a dog because I've been stepping on cheerios and puffs all day.  Not only in the kitchen but all over the house because they get stuck to her butt, lol.

Our dog subsists on finger food. He waits patiently for food to either fall on the floor, or more commonly, for her to feed him from the high chair. In doing so, she has learned the meaning of NO :-D

  • I give a little bit at a time and replace it after he's eaten what he was given.  I stop putting food on his tray when it starts hitting the floor.  I see that as a sign of being full.

Sometimes when DS2 eats its like he never gets full he just keeps eating until I give up and cut him off.

  • DD eats about 4-5 oz of food twice a day. Not including snacks. She's still eating purees.

  • It varies for N quite a bit.  Sometimes he barely eats and other times he just won't stop.  The other day for breakfast, he had a pear, 1/2 a banana, as many Os as he could get his hands on and a stick of string cheese in about 20 minutes.  Last night for dinner he ate 1/4 of a pear and a slice of cheese.

  • I will gladly rent out one of my dogs to each of you. They sit next to the high chair and pounce on food before it hits the ground and then LO feeds them more.
