If there any babywearing mamas about, I was curious, do I actually need
a stroller if I intend to have baby in a carrier when we're out and
about? My thanks in advance for the advice!
Re: XP: Babywearing mamas?
Get an infant seat and a snap n go for the tiny baby stage. Don't buy a big fancy stroller until later, when you will know if it has any value to you.
The seat and snap n go was great for when he fell asleep in the car, which for my baby was very frequently.

We use our stroller very rarely, but it does come in handy in certain situations. I'm glad we didn't spend a lot of money on the stroller we originally wanted.
We don't have a snap n go, but PP's suggestion sounds like a good idea.

I greatly regret our stroller purchase.
I only used the Snap n' Go, and now I use my jogging stroller that I got for half the price on CL. I greatly GREATLY regret my stroller purchase. Ugh.
Just remember that stores will be there when you have the baby! If you change your mind, you can go buy what you want when you need it.
I really loved the snap n go for the price (they're easy to find used, too), the size (fits in the trunk easily), and the simplicity. We do have a Chicco Liteway in the trunk now, but I wear him if we're going to be <30 min somewhere, or he loves the shopping carts. He doesn't really like the stroller much - it's too far from me. Still, it's handy for places where I need to tie him down, like when I have a chiro appointment. She's fine with me bringing him, but I need a place to put him.

FTM here too so I don't have experience but I thought I'd just wear my baby all the time too, then I realized that there are going to be times when you'll need to put the baby down when you're out. If you're shopping and trying on clothes or if you have a doctors appointment you probably aren't going to want to put the baby on the floor. Or if you're out to eat you might be better off without the baby in the way of getting potentially hot food spilled on her.
Those are exactly the times I've used a stroller. Personally, I decided I wasn't interested in spending money on a stroller, so I was lucky that friends lent us a snap-and-go for tiny baby days and then we got an umbrella stroller off freecycle for now. We use a stroller about once per week and for those few situations that it is better than babywearing, I am glad to have it. (Though I am also glad I didn't spend any money on it.)

This is really good to know. The Snap 'n Go seems like the way to go, though I'll have to amend my plan to get a convertible car seat. Thanks again SO much for helping me make an educated decision about this!
If you know anyone with a 1 year old (or older) they might lend you the infant seat. They've got a limited shelf life, so people tend to be generous. It was so much easier for us to have an infant seat.
Some babies hate them and end up happier in a convertible, but I really think that's a small minority of (loud) babies.
