I am a young soon to be mother, and i am not married but i am still in a relationship with the father of my soon to be daughter. Things are a bit bumpy and i was wondering if anyone had any words of advice/ wisdom for me as i embark on this journey. Being pregnant is hard enough without much support from the person who should be around more and i am a little nervous about after the baby is here, not that he wont be around, but maybe not helping to make the environment as positive as i would like it to be. Any legal, emotional advice would be great right now. Please, lay it on me!
Re: anyone know about legal matters as a single parent/ mother?
I've been a single parent for nearly 16 years. The best wisdom I can offer you is this:
Depending on your personal situation:
1) Go to school
2) Dont' be afraid or ashamed to use the system for help, but don't live off it
3) File for child support
4) get a good paying job that will support you both.
5) Don't depend on Dad for support
6) :Listen to Bon Jovi's Living On A Prayer at full volume driving down the highway
Love it!
lol ALL great advice !
