Just felt like sharing that. Why can't I just email my resume and be done with it? No. Every HR at every hospital has this 10-page online application with all these stupid questions. I'm sorry but I don't remember my high school GPA!
OK, vent over. Thanks for listening ![]()

To my angels- I held you every second of your lives and I'll love you every second of mine.
Higher ed applications are the worst...(in my opinion). They all include extensive essay questions, such as your teaching philosophies, your statements on diverse learners, your statements on diverse cultures, etc., So, in my experience, you write about four essays for each job you apply for.
I've had applications for professorships that take sixty hours to work on (with all of the essay writing)... And with over 100 qualified people applying for each position, the chances that you'll even get an interview are rare. I've had friends apply for jobs for years and not get an interview.
Then, for the interview, you might give a teaching demonstration on a possibly given topic, grade a sample paper and answer questions like what you would cover in a five-minute conference with a student over said paper.
That's why I don't understand when people on here talk about just leaving their job for another one. Now that I have tenure, I'm HERE until I die/retire. There is no way I'd go through all that again.
Mac and cheese lover!
