I'm debating between these three cribs - I'd love some feedback on the quality and also the height. The ikea cribs are so low I'm wondering if it would be a back killer. ;)Like the pp, I looove the look of the Jenny Lind, but it looks so delicate, I wonder if it's stable and sturdy enough.
Re: Ikea sundvik, gulliver, or Jenny lind?
I think I have a Gulliver crib, it's lime green and I couldn't find it online, but I believe that is what it is. We've been very happy with it so far. It seems very sturdy, so I'd say the quality is good. The price was tough to beat, which was why we went with the Ikea one. I didn't want to spend a lot for something we would only use for a few years.
I also like the height. We still have it on the highest rung, so I can't comment on the lower setting. I know some cribs have three heights and the Ikea one only has two. I don't see this as a problem, a lot of people actually skip the middle one anyway. Not sure how it compares with other cribs, but it is not a super tall crib. I'm 5'6" and my husband is 5'10", not really tall, we think it is fine.
I like the size of the crib. The mattress is obviously the standard size, but it feels smaller because the crib frame isn't as large as other cribs on the market. This looks like it will be true for all of the cribs you mentioned.
I don't have any experience with the Jenny Lind, but it has good reviews on Amazon. Cribs have to go through a lot of safety checks, so they all tend to be sturdy enough. I'd go with whatever you like.
We have the white Gulliver. Price is awesome, the crib still looks new, and DD is almost 19m old.
We love the height. At first we were put off by the lowness of the crib. That was the reason I doubted wanting it. But think of this: You can reach any corner of the crib without straining (when your LO starts moving around). When you convert it to a toddler bed, it won't be too high, in case your LO rolls out.
I HIGHLY recommend this crib to anyone who will listen!
We have the gulliver and I really like it. It doesn't take up a lot of space and was very easy to assemble. It is a little low, but I don't mind it at all. Also, when we switch it to a toddler bed it won't look completely ridiculous with really high sides. The gulliver has two hight settings which I think is totally adequate. The price is great too.
We bought one of the foam mattresses from ikea as well.
