Pregnant after a Loss

Why do my hips hurt already?

I know I'm only 9 weeks but my hips are killing me. It's like a deep muscle ache. Ugh this sucks.

  • Mine is usually in the evenings when I try to get comfy for bed or if I sit in 1 position too long.

  • I'm glad you posted this because I've been having some strange pain in my hip area too.  I had no idea what it was or if it was normal.  I was just trying to relax and hope it was just growing pains.

I think it's just our ligaments stretching and making room for the growing uterus. I could be wrong. Obviously I'm no dr.

  • Yep, my hips were hurting with every pregnancy, except oddly enough this one in 1st tri. I'm guessing they never went back to normal after my last loss.

  • Mine started about a week ago... much earlier in my first pregnancy though. If you haven't already, sleep with a pillow between your knees, or better yet buy a body pillow. It has definitely helped me!

  • Pregnancy hip pain is the worst!  Mine started really early as well...I have found that riding an exercise bike really seems to help with the pain though.  Walking not so much!

  • 7w is too early I thought to get hip pain.... I just chalked it up to laying on the couch on off days without putting a pillow between my knees since it was always the top hip that hurt.... I also sleep with a little pillow btwn my knees for back issues - try that and see if it helps you with sleeping
