So when giving yourself a breast exam how do you distinguish between normal lumpy tissue and strange lump? My boobs are currently tender due to that time of month so I am waiting until next week to see if there is a change on this specific lumpi am feeling.
Re: Let's discuss breast lumps
From my understanding and experience, its only from a good knowledge of what your normal breasts are and if they've changed over the course of time (whether month to month or year to year).
I have lumps that I watch. When I noticed one was growing and was more tender, I went to the dr and ended up having to have it removed (after ultrasound and biopsy). It was benign thankfully, but I have a few other lumps in each breast that I am careful to watch each month for any changes.
Also with my expereinces my boob dr (lol) advised me to not get mammagrams but to get sonograms/ultrasounds due to the type lump the one removed was. It was a cyst, but didn't have fluid- it was a hard cyst, and if I was to get a mammagram it could burst one of the cysts and cause a lot of pain and other complications.
This. I found 2 lumps, that my dr wanted me to have them removed due to a family hx of breast cancer.
