Does anyone know if Tricare covers breast pumps? I know that some insurance companies do, but I hate calling Tricare, so I thought I'd ask you all first!
However, there are some MTFs that loan out hospital grade pumps free of charge. Check with your local MTF to find out if they are one of them.
ETA: I see your location is listed as KS. If you are at McConnell AFB, I know for a fact that they have a breast pump program. Get in touch with the Family Advocacy Office to find out more.
I believe there are special circumstances. My 6 month old was hospitalized for dehydration. He was throwing up and not eating. I was only breastfeeding so he was literally getting nothing. The hospital brought me a breastpump (I was dying!!! lol) and brought me a meal since I was "feeding the patient." However, that was only for use in the hospital. it's a different story if you want a breastpump at home to pump for nonmedical reasons.

This! I'm currently borrowing one from McConnell right now. It's a great program!
Tricare covered the cost of renting a hospital grade pump for me since our MTF didn't loan them out. But I had twins that were born at 36 weeks (pre-term) and we having major latch issues from being born early. My docs wrote up a script for it and it was covered. Without it I never would have produced enough for twins and the babies were not helping since they were having such issues latching.
I think they will only cover it for certain circumstances.
