side effects of bcp

I stopped taking the mini-pill for a bit because I forgot to fill the prescription. I went back on it and I have rage. Intense rage. Or maybe bad days? I don't know. I know I had a few bad days off the pill, but today and yesterday I had moments were I just flipped out and I just wanted to shout cuss words (or I did, in my car).

Do you think bcp really has such side effects?

    Yes.

    Going off birth control to get pregnant, then back on in between kids, and then back off to get pregnant again, has convinced me that we are WAY too quick to take BCP without thinking through/realizing how much of an effect it has on us.

    No more BCP for me, that's for sure.

    I had my doctor prescribe me the brand name of my old bcp because the generic didn't work well for me, including physical side effects.

    I don't know what to do while breastfeeding.

    I love/loved my Mirena (just got it out two weeks ago). I EBF for 14 months, never had any complications. And the removal process was a piece of cake. Also, and I'm sure this is TMI, my periods were sooooo light, I would just need to wear a panty liner. Not sure if/when you want another LO, but it might be an option.

    Yes.  I hate, hate, hate BCP.  I have definitely experienced what you are describing.  I am thinking of calling my doctor about Mirena.  I'm a little scared of it and hoping to TTC in about a year but really don't want to do hormonal birth control.

    I'm sure it's a side-effect.  I have rage during PMS if I am NOT on my BCP.  It could be that you need a different pill...or maybe Mirena.

    Bahaha! Yes, yes, yes. I had the same problem. Thought it might have been PMDD but it was just the pills. Absolutely, any hormonal pill can impact your mood. You may have to try several different pills or types of BC before you figure out what works best for you. G/L
