Well, in college, I swam the 1650 (which is the closet event to a mile) in around 18.5 minutes. Amazingly fast would be about 17 minutes for a woman. But, if we are talking open water, that is a whole different beast. I did a triathalon (only the swimming part) and my time was around 21 minutes. I don't think 30 is bad. I have certainly seen slower!
So I went to google to see some average mile times (because it got me thinking, and also I love swimming), and apparently, for a 30 year old in an ocean mile swim, 30 minutes is an average time! (I don't know exactly how old you are, but they did it by decade, so I figured 30 was the closet age to you) So see, you are doing really well! Are you swimming regularly?
Yup i swim about 4 days week more in the summer. Apparently I suck at swimming lol I need to work on that lol
You do not suck! That is really good!! I will tell you this- I could not swim a mile right now if you offered me a million dollars. So you are doing pretty amazing if you ask me!
Swimming's always come natural to me (running not so much) after I had Nick I took 4 months off from swimming and jumped right back in and swam a mile Im sure it was the adrenaline rush from swimming again lol

WOW. Okay, I am definitely impressed now! My goodness!
I had started to get back into swimming right before I got pregnant, and then after I was pregnant, I couldn't find a proper bathing suit to wear, so I stopped again. I desperately want to start up again though. And I hear you with running- I may be the worst runner ever.
I really have to work at running, but I love it. I love the high I get after a good long run.
As for a bathing suit all the maternity ones sucked so I just bought the biggest bathing suit I could fine and swam throughout my pregnancy once I could no longer run anymore.
