Labeling daycare bottles?

I apologize in advance for so many questions today.  I was curious as to how others label their daycare bottles. I'd like to get our ducks in a row before LO starts day care in a few weeks.  Thanks for any advice!

Re: Labeling daycare bottles?

  • I'm new here and usually lurk but I got my bottle labels just last week from name bubbles online. I got 45 labels for $19. We love them.

Before that, I just used a marker and wrote his name. But I'm kind of OCD and liked the look of labels better.

  • A roll of painter's tape and a sharpie.  I'm not sure it gets much cheaper than that and it gets the job done.

  • DD's name only is on the bottle and cap (label maker tape provided by DC).  Every day DC will put a piece of masking tape with today's date.

  • I just use a sharpie and write it on the bottle.  After a few washes it starts to fade and I write it again over the same spot.  Cheapest, easiest way to do it in my opinion.

  • So I'm totally lame here but I use blue painters tape and a sharpie.  I put her name on it and bottle #1, #2, #3, etc.  I send 4 bottles and put them in a large ziploc bag with her name on it as well.  I don't send extra milk, I send only prepared bottles.  Since I'm rotating freezer stash with fresh, I want to specify what bottles she takes 1st, etc.  I just couldn't find labels online that I like and the tape works great for us so far.

  • Our DC provider supplies the labels.  They use different colors to represent breastmilk or formula.  I'm sure any baby store would have labels.

I got them for DD1's bottles when she started in May 2007 and we use the same ones still for sippy cups/water bottles.  DD1 has one color, DD2 has another so they can tell their own cups apart each day.

  • We use the Orbit labels around the bottle. For the cap, we use those little round small labels to write the date and his initials.

  • For DS, the daycare provided the labels (had to since their policy was to handle the BM differently than formula). Our daycare provided the specific bottles that DD used. They labeled them and DD was the only one to use them. I brought in bags of BM that I labeled with DD's name and date.

This. Not cheap, but I am anal about labeling stuff.

    This is what I did.

  • I use these from Oliver's Labels. It was a little bit of an outlay in the beginning ($20) but I got his clothing labels at the same time to get free shipping and i think I googled a coupon code too. They are really nice since it is super quick to write on the date with the wipe on wipe off pencil and I've had extras to label his food containers too. The only problem I found was if I used it too many times on cold breastmilk bottles the pencil didn't seem to work as well, it works nicer when I was writing on room temperature formula bottles but this probably could be remedied by maybe putting it near a heat source occasionally to soften the pencil.

  • I got some off Etsy. I think they were $5 for 30. I considered using a marker, but the labels were just so darn cute. I did have to trim them down for his smaller sippy cups.

  • Another vote for namebubbles.com - we also use their labels on Mr E's clothes, since you can stick them directly on the fabric (most of his stuff is tagless) and they go through the wash but can be removed later for selling or giving the clothes away.

I forgot to mention this in my earlier response. We got the childcare value pack.

This. We keep some in his room and some in the kitchen. It is very handy to just slap on a sticker. I use a sharpie on the caps, or when I want to number the bottles in a specific order.... They come in all sorts of sizes and shapes. So far I have labeled bottles, food containers, clothing, his bottle bag, and his pacifiers.
