3rd Trimester

Dark skin in butt crack?

I have started getting dark skin patches on my face, the "mask of pregnancy" or chloasma. My doctor told me to expect darkening in skin near my nipples, scars, (freckles for those who have them), and possibly underarms/inner thighs. And to answer my question on whether or not I'd get it near my buttocks, I was directed to this Q&A: https://bit.ly/x7NG2J.

Anyone else becoming more and more attractive?

Re: Dark skin in butt crack?

  • When I was pg with DD1 I had dark skin in my belly button and my armpits.  It went away about 1-2 months after she was born.  I am getting the dark armpit skin back with this pg but it's not nearly as bad.  Rest assured, it does go away!

  • I don't have the mask on the face, but I have the patches in other places. I'm not worried about it. I prefer it to the sudden onset of acne I had in the 2nd tri and the stretch marks I thought I'd avoided but that hit me hard at 37 weeks. Dark butt crack skin? Totally normal. And how many people are really going to see it.

  • How does one figure out that the skin in their rear has darkened? LOL Sorry...this made me laugh. =P
