Two Under 2

Two babies, one bedroom?

This November we'll have two under two. We only have our room and one other bedroom which is currently occupied by our 9 month old. No other closed areas. After two weeks, our daughter was in a crib in that room. Now that we'll have another baby, I'm not too sure how the sleeping arrangements will work.....won't they wake each other up if they share a room? Or can they just get used to it over time? Are we really destined to having to share our bedroom with one of the kiddos until they're both old enough to not cry during bedtime or the night?

We can't move any time soon....but I'd appreciate any other advice y'all have to offer!

  • I would see how your older LO is a few months before baby comes. you have a lot of time. I always have baby in our room for 4-6 months so if it were me I would do that until you know the baby isnt waking every 2-3 hrs.

  • We only have 1 kid's room in our apartment.  Emmaline slept in our room till 4-5 months and then we transitioned to the crib in her room.  We're planning on doing the same for Annabelle.  She'll be in our room till she's sleeping nice long stretches and then we'll transition the girls to sharing.  We've heard it takes a few days to a few weeks and then both LO's get used to it.  I've also heard parents say that their favorite part of the day is waking up to the sound of their LO's chatting away in their shared room...  can't wait for that ; )
