Braxton Hicks?

Is it normal for Braxton Hicks contractions to become more frequeent the further along you get? I get them more frequently, but still sporatically. Is this normal for 33weeks? TIA.

Re: Braxton Hicks?

  • Yes, it is normal. It is also a symptom of dehydration, so make sure you are drinking plenty of water.

  • Very normal the farther along you are the more your body is practicing for birth.

  • Yes its normal. With my first baby I didn't get them till the last 2 weeks and I think it only happened a couple of times. This time I started getting them at like 22 weeks and I do have them alot. Days when I get a ton I noticed that I haven't been keeping myself hydrated so there is some truth to that. Drink up, it might help though I happens anyway... it just might  help cut down on them :)

  • Totally normal. And for some people, like me, they can seem almost constant. Of course, I would advise you to still follow the "guidelines" and consult a physician ASAP if you're having more than four an hour, but just so you know, for some of us, you can have around 20 or more an hour.
