My husband's family has a tradition of using the initials KMK for the females in his family. I do not mind this tradition, but there are only a few K names I actually like. The problem is the name we both like, Kylie Marie, is similar to our niece's, Kaylee Marie. Should I just go for a different first name? Middle name? Suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
Re: Is this name too similar to SIL's.
It would be way too close for me.
My name is Katrina.
How about Karly (or Karla)? I prefer it with a C but it's not uncommon to see it spelled with a K.
Just stay away from names that you rarely see spelled with a K. If you name a kid Karmen or Kassandra people will just assume you're emulating the Kardashians.
Kylie is NMS but far better IMO than Kaylee. Yes, those names are a lot alike.
They are cousins not siblings. If that's the name you like, use it. If you are worried they are too similar because it will bug you, don't use it. (they are clearly similar, I just don't think it matters)
I have a couple cousins with the same name. My oldest has the same name as my own cousin and my dad. We've never had any problems. We are a very close family so we do see each other all the time but it hasn't hurt anyone yet.
Kate Michelle
Katerina Maine
Kaitlin Marcelle
Kara Mae
Karina Miriam
Kelly Margot
Kelsey Maribel
That's really close.

Yes, I think they are too similar.
How about Kelsey Mae?
I think they're too similar. If you change the first name OR the middle name, it should be fine. I don't think you need to change both. However, if you want to keep the Marie, then nix Kylie.

Middle name suggestions- Madeline, Marcella, Meredith, Macy (i), Megan, Morgan, Matilda, Madison
Way too similar, sorry.
I'm also not a huge fan of K names....The only ones I like are Kate, Keturah, Katrina and Katarina.
I'm not sure if any of those appeal to you....
Yes, they are too similar
How about Karina?
They are very similair, but who cares? I'm curious, though, what are some not-K names you liked? If you really love one of those then screw tradition.
