The next four weeks

So, I know that I can ovulate, we've chosen a donor, and now....we wait until the next ovulation.

I've always known that the two week wait will be horrible, but this four week wait is going to be a nightmare.

Good opportunity to get out and exercise I suppose!

BTW - for anyone who likes sporty clothes - I'd ordered Lululemon's Pace Setter running skirt and it arrived on Saturday - LOVE! Definitely worth a try if you're a walker like me! (I don't really do running)

How do you all manage not to think about it when you're waiting to drop an egg? :)

Happy Monday All!

Re: The next four weeks

  • There is a ton of waiting involved in this, and it's really hard.  I've spent a pretty significant part of the last year thinking about ttc, sadly enough...  My best advice is to stay busy and to try not to think about it.  If you have other things going on in your life/other goals you're working towards it'll go faster and feel less overwhelming.

  • I would agree with PP. If you have things going on that can occupy your time, that will help greatly! Waiting on anything to do with conceiving sucks! Stay busy!
  • Thanks Ladies! I am always thinking about babies, parenting, and all that goes with it. I am turning into a huge bore. I will need to get some hobbies for sure...making baby clothes for my friends? Exercising more to help with birth! Eating healthier for the baby!......nope, I suck at this! :)

    Will keep trying :)

I don't, I'm afraid.  I think about it all the time.  You wait for 2 weeks to ovulate, and then you wait 2 weeks to test.  And again, and again.  I've had to skip 3 cycles out of the 8 months we've been doing this, which means even more waiting.  It sucks.

I agree with PPs -- try to think of other things, do other things, spend time on hobbies, etc -- but I can't say I've been very successful at that!  Fortunately, time does pass, no matter how slowly it seems to pass, and eventually you'll find you've reached whatever you were waiting for.
