What a joke -- InfantSEE Vent!

So I have been calling around for 2 1/2 hours to try and get our LO into an optometrist for the InfantSEE program (I have been concerned that he is cross-eyed and since I have bad vision the pedi recommended getting him in at 6 months).  Every doctor doesn't have appointments for months since it's "a federal program" and they don't really "make money" off of it.

 How FRUSTRATING!

 Ok vent over!

  • That is BS maybe don't mention the program just set up the appt???

  • I guess the problem is, most offices, only 1 of their doctors participates.  So the spots are limited.  They said if that 1 doctor isn't there that day, they have no appointments -- ugh how frustrating!

  • I am so sorry to hear that.  We had an amazing experience with the program, got an appointment within a week or ten days, and all of us still see that doctor.  Boo for crappy offices!

  • I am glad to hear someone had a good experience.  I made him an appointment for April at a place that squeezed him in.  It's a shame too because most places I called were super uneducated about it.

  • That's weird.

There's two optometrists in my area that do free eye exams at 3 months and 3 years, no program required. Maybe try that.

I'd schedule the appt. and then worry about the details after. Sounds horrible, but hey if they want to play "games" too, I'd do it.

  • Thank you for recognizing the importance of infant eye exams. The InfantSEE? program is dedicated to providing comprehensive vision assessments to infants between the ages of six and 12 months at no-cost, regardless of family income, insurance or number of eligible children.  We truly regret you have had a challenge in scheduling an appointment for your baby; it looks like Cameron will visit an InfantSEE? provider in April. Please feel free to contact us at (800) 365-2219 x 4286 if we can help in any way.

    All the best,
