*Cute lunch check-in*

Let's start with breakfast, shall we? It wasn't cute, but it sure was pretty and my DD was stunned to sit down to breakfast and find this at her seat! Chocolate waffles, blackberries, whipped cream, powdered sugar and chocolate syrup! (I'd give you the recipe but I didn't think the waffles were very chocolatey so I'll have to keep searching for a better recipe).

A visitor left us on Monday, so DD got this lunch to commemorate the occasion - a homemade sealed sandwich (chicken salad) topped with a cheesy map, "suitcase" silicone container with popcorn inside (untouched), kiwi, carrots, tomatoes and a cookie from the airplane (she thought this was so cool).

No real theme here. A peek-a-boo sealed sandwich, carrots and celery cut into matchsticks, kiwi, Sun Chips and I can't remember what in the new shooting star container. Last year, I took it upon myself to make DD like kiwi and it worked! It took many months but she loves them now!

I wish this Lorax idea were mine but I got it here: https://www.cutefoodforkids.com/2012/03/dr-seuss-lorax-inspired-food-ideas.html (and theirs is better). Leftover mini turkey burger (I cut the bun with a biscuit cutter), kiwi with bar-ba-loots (or whatever they're called), Lorax made from cheese and Babybel cheese, blackberries and a few chocolate-covered sunflower "truffula tree" seeds. DD loved this! I have only read the book twice and didn't see the movie with her, so I couldn't really think of anything else to to add to the lunch that goes along with the theme.

St. Patrick's Day is coming! Leftover turkey burger, ketchup and a jumbo strawberry. On the right are blackberries, a little container of dried fruit and itsy bitsy cheese sandwiches on picks (cut with a FunBites cutter). I haven't used these slim containers in a while but they're really handy for taking place because they don't take up much horizontal room and can easily fit in a smaller bag. I got the St. Patrick's Day picks at Party City a few years ago but they still have them there.

Have a great week and PIP your cute lunches here!

Re: *Cute lunch check-in*

  • I just have to say, that while I am thrilled just to have a healthy meal (much less cute) on the table for DD, I love your lunches and look forward to your posts!  Maybe they'll inspire me.  Someday.  Wink

  • Wonderful lunches. I make some cute lunches, they are  no where near as awesome as yours, but I do it in the am before work/school so I rarely get a chance to photograph them. Thanks for the inspiration.
