Sore ALL THE TIME?

Hi~

   My son is almost 13 months.  I excercise (run, lift weights, play basketball 1x week) as much as I can, which actually turns about to be 3-4 times per week.  I am always sore, though.  My right hip kills me, my lowver and upper back are always so tight, etc.

   Does anyone else experience this?  I realized a lot comes from carrying him and picking him up.  Am I just getting old?  Is this the joys of post-pregnancy body? 

   The pain doesn't stop me from doing things, but is definitely painful.  I was a college athlete, so I do know what serious, lingering pain can be.  I just feel like things shouldn't hurt this much at this point!  Thanks.

  • My first thought is are you taking the time to stretch at the end of your workouts? If not, start immediately. Consider adding in some yoga, even 10 min a day after your shower will improve your flexibility and likely your pain. Also, consider foam rolling (google it). It is like a daily deep tissue massage and does wonders for tight hips.
