What do you all use for window blackouts (after seeing the PB sale I am looking to upgrade). I know I should really ask on the Gear boards but I have come to realize that you ladies have the best ideas! Thank you in advance!
I have the PB ones and they are okay but not 100%. I have had better luck with these suede type drapes I got at JCP. Holy cow those block out every ray of light like nobody's business. For DD's room with the PBK ones, we had to get a room darkening shade that I pull down as well and then it is okay but light still leaks in around the edges.
ETA: I will say that it would help (but not completely solve the problem) if I had a curtain rod in DD's room that went around instead of straight across. That is what i have in DS's room and his drapes work great.
I had roller shades that I mounted in the inside of the window casings in our old house, so you couldn't see them. I had really nice window treatments over them to dress the window up and also block out the cracks. But I had the shade cut within 1/8" of the size of the window, so there was literally no gap. I got mine at Sears, pretty sure that JCP also has them. Oh, and I got the kind with the chain, not the tension pull, because the tension kind is a PITA to get it to stay where you want it.
ETA: This is exactly what I have. Sorry, I tried linking Sears US but my IP address says Canada and it keeps returning me to the Canadian site. Argh. And even though it talks about a bigger gap, I ordered slightly bigger and altered the mechanism myself with a pipe cutter and dremel tool.
Here's an example of the fabric style I looped, I did a double rod so there were sheer panels behind it too. They were in shades of grape and lilac. Finials were in white, similar style.

We also got the blackout shades from JCP. Cheap, but they do the trick!
