Anyone have food poisoning while PG? Last night DH and I ordered takeout from a local Thai place that we have eaten at several times before. I had stir fried noodles with pork, broccoli and carrots. About 2 hours later I started having upper stomach cramps and I could hear all kinds of gas noises. I had a bout of diarrhea and felt a tiny bit better. Then an hour or so later I vomitted and felt almost completely better and was able to fall asleep. I'm feeling fine this morning and have not experienced anymore diarrhea or vomitting. Does this sound like food poisoning to you ladies? Or perhaps maybe the Thai food just disagreed with my stomach? If it was food poisoning it shouldn't have affected the baby, right? It was short lived and I had no fever. I'm just a little worried. I don't have a doppler to check on her and I am not feeling kicks yet (I have an anterior placenta). I just really hope she's okay. Thanks. I am also waiting for the on-call doctor to call me back.

Re: Food poisoning?
Hmmmm depending on the type of food poisoning you have it takes any where from 8-72 hours to hit you usually. I would think 2 hours would be a little soon to get it.
Is it possible it's a little flu bug or just food your system didn't agree with? I have had food poisoning 3 times and for me, I KNOW when that is what I have. I was extremely nauseous, had a bad headache, vomiting, diarrhea, dizziness, seeing black spots, and the last time I had it a few years ago I actually blacked out at work! It's awful....serious feels like death (or what I would imagine that feels like) Ugh.
Hopefully that's not what you have, feel better soon! Glad you called the Dr cause they may want you to go in for IV fluids.

I think it just upset your stomach. Food poisoning usually has multiple vomit sessions and people are miserable for about 24 hours.
Last year when I was pregnant we had a brussel sprout salads for dinner and about two hours later I was on my bathroom floor crying from pain and cramping. Finally, I threw up and had diarrhea. My stomach stayed upset the rest of the night but the next day I was fine. I think our bodies just reach differently to some foods during pregnancy, especially gassy foods like brusell sprouts and broccoli.
Edit: It was about your exact gestation time too.
