How on target were your final fundal measurements?

Just wondering what to expect! DS #1 was a peanut (mild IUGR/SGA) and DS#2 is measuring about 2.5 weeks behind, so thinking he might be, too. I haven't had many u/s's this time, and someone must have slipped me a xanax because I've been chill here at the end without them because the NST's have all been good. Wondering if I should pack mostly NB or 0-3 stuff now? Guess I could always send DH back home for another size, but there is no telling what he'd come back with!

  • My fundal measurements at 32 weeks I was measuring 2 weeks behind and was sent for a growth u/s and Katie was actually measuring ahead. My heights continued to be a bit behind but did start to catch up. OB said K would be 7lbs. She was 8lb 10oz!!! Fundal height can be off. Can't believe you are so close!!!

OMG, me either--Friday it is! Just trying to enjoy every last second, but also so excited to meet him :) Wow, they were definitely off on yours!
  • I was told that LO would be around 6 to 6 1/2 pounds and she was actually 7lbs 4oz. I delivered 2 days after my delivery day.  She was in newborn stuff for awhile.

  • Um.....not sure if you want my answers!

DD: was told that she'd be about 6.5 pounds. She was 7 lbs, 11 ounces.

DS #1: measured 3 weeks behind; was told he would be 6 pounds. He was 8 lbs, 2 ounces.

DS #2: was told he'd be 'my smallest baby", around 6ish pounds.  He was 9 pounds, 8 ounces.

    Perhaps I should switch OB's.

  • Mine were pretty off. A week before she was born they measured her at 7lbs9oz. She was born 6lbs11oz. Excited for you to meet your little guy! Won't be long now :)

  • I always measured 1-2 wks behind. DD was born at 41wk2d weighing 7lb 8oz. You could be behind because the baby dropped especially if you previously measured on track. DD didn't fit into any 0-3 month clothing until 5-6wks. We had to go but NB stuff because we didn't have any. (I guess I thought gaining 60+lb meant I was having a 12lb baby)

Ha ha! Maybe he/she should get a FHM refresher course, at least!

lol, me too! Guess I just have some extra padding ;) When DS was born, I had all 0-3 stuff and had to send DH out to wal-mart while I was in the hospital for NB stuff. It fit, but that's about all I can say about what he picked out ;)
  • I'm having my little guy this Friday too!  I'm not sure about my fundal height measurement, but his u/s size predictions have been all over the place, so I'm bringing nb and 0-3 just in case.  Good luck!

  • DD was 9lbs 3oz and they measured her as 8-something a few days before I had her.  That being said, I had ordered a newborn outfit from Tea Collection and she was swimming in it!  She was also 22.5 inches long, but still little in that newborn outfit.  She was out of the newborn diapers in about 3 days though.  Best of luck this week!  I'm so happy for you!

Sounds like I need to stick with NB stuff, then. Thank you! :)
