DH and I decided we want to get a doppler so that we can try to hear baby's heartbeat. I know a number of you have them; what would you recommend?

Re: Doppler recommendations
I have the sonoline B from fetaldoppler.net, it was frustrating in the beginning when we had difficulty finding her. It really did help me feel a lot better though having it! I am happy with the sonoline b!!
I have the HiBebe (BT-200). I have been able to find the babies heart beats since about 10 weeks - during most attempts. I didn't try any sooner than that.
I bought it here - https://www.healthchecksystems.com/hi_bebe_fetal_doppler_bt200.htm.
I was able to find the heartbeat with my sonoline B early in my 9th week, and I have an anterior placenta (which can get in the way). Warning: I had to press down so hard under my pubic bone to hear anything, I nearly bruised myself. This is probably not recommended...
I actually find it a little more challenging to find it now that I am farther along since there is a much larger area to cover now to try to find it.

Me too. I don't know how I would have made it 4 weeks between appointments without hearing that reassuring heartbeat. Just remember in the beginning that your baby is WAY down lower than you think. Start at your pubic bone, and aiming down. And like PP said, don't get upset if you can't hear it yet. I don't think I heard mine until 10 or 12 weeks.

Our daughter E was born 7/29/2012!
Surprise, our 2nd daughter P was born 5/22/14!
I have a Sonoline B and love it. It's been great for relieving stress, but I agree with PPs, if you start trying to use it too early it can cause more stress than it relieves.
All of my doctors recommended holding off until at least 11 or 12 weeks before trying to hear the HB on my own. I bought one at 14 weeks and it was still hit and miss for a couple more weeks.
