I do not. I saw a post on another board that said, "I taste everything my baby eats" and then was horrified at how formula tastes.
I have tasted his breast milk, but only because I was worried I had a lipase issue so I tasted fresh and frozen to compare. But, that was really out of necessity. Other than that, I don't really taste his food. Maybe I'm the odd mom out here. I have no desire to taste his food, though.
Re: Do you taste everything your LO eats?
I don't taste much either.
A) I make 3/4s of her food. I know what smashed broccoli tastes like..lol. I do sometimes taste just to make sure it came out right.
The other stuff I don't know about..meh whatever.
I did taste bmilk once because I thought I had an issue too. I tasted formula once because I thought it smelled weird and was just double checking.
It's not like any of this is a regular occurrence.
I will admit..H and I snack on her yogurt melts on occassion...She downright hates them. We kind of like them..might as well use them up.
yep, i've tasted everything. up until a few weeks ago i made everything he ate though, so i guess i just wanted to make sure my cooking wasn't absolutely horrible. now i'll give him a tub of gerber or plum here and there. i don't like avacados but i still gave them to ds and he still loves them! all the store bought stuff is decent. i actually think gerber's green beans were better than those i cooked at home.
anyone remember tuti fruiti? that stuff was amazeballs! i think the last time i had it i was 13! my mom baby sat for a couple LOs and i would steal the tuti fruiti! i guess they don't make it anymore
I do. I've even tasted her antibiotics and the baby wash since she insists on gnawing on the washcloth.
ha! totally did this too! i was worried it would leave a bad after taste, but it wasn't bad.
Really? This just seems silly to me. What is so gross that you refuse to give it to your LO? Babies don't have the same taste buds as adults.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)

What if it tasted gross? What would you have done? I guess I just figure, if he doesn't like something he'll stop doing it/won't eat it.

I do. Mostly for texture and temperature, though. Not really for taste.
Not everything, but most. I taste her food to make sure it's not too hot - just a lick here and there. Some of the jarred things I've tasted out of curiosity.
I've tasted BM before, but only once or twice - it's not like it's all the time. I've never tasted formula and have no plans to.
Nooooooooo. I can't imagine how nasty most of it is. I've tasted things like the baby yogurt, and the mums/puffs but those were just to see how quick they really dissolved.
My kid lives on peas, and I hate them with a fiery passion. Even things I like that I give her in puree form I would never think to want to taste. Who the hell wants to taste pureed broccoli? I made her chicken/broc/cauliflower puree that actually smelled awesome, but wtf @ pureed chicken. Ick.

I honestly dont know. I guess it's more of a curiosity thing!
Since I made/make everything I pretty much know what it tastes like. I dont make purees anymore. He basically eats table food now. But I have tried antibitocs and Zantac(flavored an unflavored. Unflavored was horrible. I tried a vitamin they wanted Tim to take which was the most disgusting thing ever.
A lot of it I just want to know what it tastes like. I tried formula a few weeks ago and was surprised at how gross it was and realized why Timmy never liked it when I tried to give it to him when he was a baby.
Kind of yes, but mostly no.
I make most of her food, and like a PP said, I know what mashed banana and baked squash tastes like. If it's something I made and she doesn't finish it, I usually will!
I have tried a puff, just to see how crunchy/easy to chew it was.
The few things I've given her from jars look and smell gross, so I have no interest.
After a couple months of formula feeding, I licked a drop off my finger out of pure curiosity. I don't know why, I had always just rinsed it off before. Anyway, it's totally gross. I never tried my breast milk though.
I do. Mostly out of curiosity, but also t make sure it isn't bad.
Yeah, formula tastes like warm azz.

Nope, nothing.
She's only had store bought baby food 3 times, otherwise I've made everything she's eaten. I know what it tastes like already.
